Va-Va-Va-Vancouver!

After a fantastic time in Vancouver, I’m already planning my return.

First things first: massive thanks to Thomas Girard for having me on his podcast. Again. This is my second time being his podcast guest, so either he genuinely likes the conversation or he’s run out of guests.

You can watch the episode UNIQUEWAYS WITH THOMAS GIRARD MORE THAN AUDIO on YouTube.

It had been about five years since my last visit to Vancouver, and I felt like no time had passed. Every single bar I walked by still plays Rush. Every one. I started to wonder if this was a law or a cry for help. Has Canada released no music since the 90s? What about The Biebs? I have questions. Apparently, Vancouver has answers, and the answer is always Rush.

Between questions, I actually did some running through the city and one of my favorites, Stanley Park. Turns out the FIFA World Cup was also in town, so half my “running route” doubled as an obstacle course of road closures, gridlocked traffic, and block parties I had to dodge or detour around.

The highlight, though, was meeting up with my cousin, who whisked me off to Richmond for a succulent Chinese meal.

Five years was too long. “Be cool or be cast out.”
