It’s been a tough year for employees at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. We began 2024 with a layoff of 530 people. Followed by a second round of layoffs in November, and delayed raises for those of us that remain employed, I envision a ridiculous (and awesome) solution for JPLers to win bonuses:
All JPLers get time in a money booth.
It’s a large, phone booth-shaped container made of glass. A JPLer steps inside the money-booth and closes the door. One at a time, please! Once inside, a countdown timer starts just as cash flies all around. Hundreds of 100s. Then, it’s a race to grab as much money as possible before time runs out.
And when it is my turn (of course, I get a turn!), I will step into the money booth with a jumpsuit (you know I love a jumpsuit) made entirely out of super sticky tape. Don’t forget the matching sticky helmet and gloves. I think of crime-genius Marv from Home Alone and his sticky tape glove that picks up whatever he touches:
It’s Christmas season and Home Alone is on everyday.
As the money starts to fly, it sticks to my sticky jumpsuit, helmet, and gloves. I walk out covered in money. I’m rich!
Money reigns when money rains!
Happy Christmas, New Year, and (financial) prosperity to you all!
